Lockbourne is a small village located in Ohio, United States. It is unique because it sits in two different counties: Franklin County and Pickaway County. In 2020, about 236 people lived there. Lockbourne is also close to Rickenbacker International Airport, which was once known as Lockbourne Air Force Base.

History of Lockbourne
Lockbourne was first planned in the early 1830s. Its name comes from the "locks" of the Ohio and Erie Canal. The village was built right next to this important canal.
For many years, a power plant called Picway Power Plant operated in Lockbourne. It used coal to make electricity. The plant was open from 1926 until 2015. It was owned by different companies over time, including American Electric Power (AEP).

To get to Lockbourne by road, people mainly use U.S. Route 23 and Ohio State Route 317. The closest major highway is Interstate 270. This highway goes around the outer parts of Columbus and connects to other big interstates like Interstate 70 and Interstate 71.
