Lockie Leonard is a cool Australian TV show for kids. It's based on the popular Lockie Leonard books by Tim Winton. The show was filmed in Albany, Western Australia. It first aired on the Nine Network on June 19, 2007.
Goalpost Pictures Australia made Lockie Leonard. The Australian Children's Television Foundation helps share it with viewers. The awesome theme song, "Worlds Away," is by the band Jebediah.
The show also became popular in other countries. In the UK, it started on September 27, 2008, as part of the TMi show on BBC Two. Later, it moved to the CBBC Channel.
Lockie Leonard won several big awards. It got the 2008 TV Week Logie Award for Best Children's Series. Sean Keenan, who plays Lockie, was nominated for a special award for new talent. It also won the 2007 AFI award for Best Children's Drama Series. Plus, it was nominated for a BAFTA Award in 2007 for Best International Children's Drama Series.

About the Show
The Lockie Leonard TV series comes from a set of books. These books were written by Tim Winton, a famous author from Western Australia. There are three books in the series: Lockie Leonard, Human Torpedo, Lockie Leonard, Scumbuster, and Lockie Leonard, Legend. Puffin International published all of them.
What Happens in the Story?
Series One
The first series of Lockie Leonard follows the story of the first book. Lockie Leonard is a boy who loves to surf. His family moves to a small coastal town called Angelus in Western Australia. Lockie has to start high school in this new town. He doesn't know anyone, and his new house is even sinking into a swamp!
On his second day, Lockie meets a boy named Egg. Egg loves heavy metal music, and they quickly become best friends. That same day, Lockie meets Vicki Streeton at school. She is the smartest and richest girl there. Lockie falls in love with her right away. Vicki's dad is also the mayor of Angelus. The first series covers Lockie's first year living in Angelus with his family.
Series Two
The second series shows Lockie's second year in Angelus. He has to deal with many new things. Vicki goes away to boarding school. Lockie then becomes friends with a new girl named Mel. His best friend Egg starts hanging out with Curtis, the school bully. Egg even starts dating Vicki's friend, Sasha.
Lockie's younger brother, Phillip, starts high school early because he is very smart. He makes new friends too. Meanwhile, Lockie's dad, Sarge, who loves poetry, gets a new police partner. Lockie's mom, Joy, decides to start a new radio station called Radio Angelus.

More About Series Two
The second series of Lockie Leonard was filmed in 2009. It aired in Australia on the Nine Network and WIN in 2010. The same actors returned for the new season. The writers created fresh, original stories for the characters. This new series shows Lockie's adventures as he gets a bit older. It is still set in Albany, Western Australia.
