Lodoga (also called Ladoga) is a small community in Colusa County, California. It's known as a census-designated place, which means it's a special area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau. Lodoga is located at an elevation of 1,237 feet (377 meters) above sea level. In 2020, about 184 people lived there.
History of Lodoga
Lodoga once had its own post office. It first opened in 1898. Over the years, it closed and reopened a few times before closing for good in 1954.
The community is located at the southern end of the East Park Reservoir. This reservoir was created when the East Park Dam was built in 1910. The dam, the reservoir, and other water systems nearby were some of the very first projects built by the United States Bureau of Reclamation. This government agency helps manage water resources in the United States.
