Loharu was considered a "9 Salute state," which meant its ruler, called a Nawab, was honored with a 9-gun salute by the British. This showed how important the state was.

Loharu: A Princely State in India
Loharu covered an area of about 222 square miles (575 square kilometers). It was located in the southeastern part of the old Punjab. This area is now part of the Bhiwani district in India.
Loharu's History and Rulers
The state of Loharu was established in 1806. It was ruled by a family of Nawabs. These rulers worked with the British government in India. They helped manage their state while still being under British control.
Loharu After Independence
In 1947, India and Pakistan became independent countries. At this time, Loharu decided to join the Union of India. Many people from Loharu, including some members of the ruling family and Muslim residents, moved to Lahore, Pakistan. However, the Nawab of Loharu at that time, Nawab Aminuddin Ahmed, and his closest family stayed in India. His eldest daughter, Mahbano Begum, later moved to Islamabad.
