History of Long Grove
Long Grove was officially started in 1956. Over the years, it has kept its "pristine rural charm." This means you won't find many sidewalks, fences, or street lights in residential areas. The village wants to protect its natural look.
The historic downtown area is a popular spot. It has many unique shops and places to visit. Long Grove is also famous for its yearly festivals. These include the chocolate, strawberry, and apple festivals. They happen in May, June, and September.
A very special landmark is the Robert Parker Coffin Bridge. It was built in 1906 and is featured on the village's logo. This old covered bridge is quite low, with a clearance of 8 feet 6 inches (2.59 meters). Because of this, taller vehicles sometimes hit it!

Education in Long Grove
