In 1987, Loredana released her first song, "Bună seara, iubito" ("Good Evening, Love!"). Even though it was not allowed to be played on TV in Romania at first, it became a huge hit. Her album with the same name sold 1.5 million copies. This made it the best-selling album ever in Romania. Over the years, Loredana has released many popular albums and songs. One of her songs, "Apa," was almost number one on the Romanian music charts in 2012. She was also a judge on the TV show The Voice in Romania for seven seasons.

Life and career
Loredana Groza was born in a town called Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now Onești), Romania. This was on June 10, 1970. She started singing when she was only three years old. She kept singing all through her school years.
When she was 14, two music writers, Dumitru Moroșanu and Zsolt Kerestely, noticed her. They invited her to Bucharest for a talent show called Steaua fără nume (The Star Without a Name). She was too young to join, as you had to be 17. But she still competed in 1986 when she was 16. She won the main prize! In the same year, she won an award for being the best new artist at the Mamaia Music Festival. She was the youngest person to ever win that award.
In 1987, at the Costinești Music Festival, she met a famous composer named Adrian Enescu. He wrote a song for her called "O inimă de 16 ani" ("A 16-Year-Old Heart"). After that, he helped her make her first album, Bună seara, iubito! (Good Evening, Love!) in 1988. The main song from the album was not shown on Romanian TV because of rules at the time. But both the song and the album were very popular. The album sold 1.5 million copies.
In 1989, Enescu and Lucian Avramescu helped her make her second album, Un buchet de trandafiri (A Bouquet of Roses). This album was also a success. Loredana took a break from music until 1994. Then, she returned with the album Atitudine (Attitude). In 1995, she went on tour in Romania with the band Direcția 5. That same year, she released Născută toamna (Born in Autumn). Her album Tomilio came out in 1996 and sold enough copies to be called 'gold'. In 1998, Loredana released a very popular song called "Lumea e a mea" with B.U.G. Mafia.
In 2001, Loredana worked with Adrian Enescu again on the album Diva înamorată. She then released two albums inspired by traditional Romanian music: Agurida (2001) and Zarza, vânzătoarea de plăceri (Zarza, the Pleasure Seller) (2002). From 2003 to 2006, Loredana released more albums: Fata cu șosete de diamant (The Girl with Diamond Socks), Extravaganza, and Jamparalele. Jamparalele also sold enough copies to be called 'gold'. It included her hit song "Lele." With this song, she tried to sing for Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. She had also tried to join the contest in 1994 and 1996.
In 2012, Loredana released "Apa." This song was her most popular on the national charts, reaching number two. In 2014, she released another song, "Risipitor" ("Wasteful"), which made it into the top 10.
Loredana also sang for characters in movies. She was the singing voice of Gloria in Happy Feet Two. She also sang for Barbara Gordon in Lego Batman: The Movie.
Personal life
Loredana was married to a TV producer named Andrei Boncea. They have a daughter named Elena.
