Loredana Groza (born June 10, 1970), often known by her first name Loredana, is a famous Romanian singer. She is well-known for changing her musical style over the years. Her music includes everything from pop to traditional Romanian music and manele.
In 1987, Loredana released her first single, "Bună seara, iubito" ("Good Evening, Love!"). At the time, the government in Romania censored the song, meaning it was not allowed to be played on TV. Despite this, it became a huge hit and is one of her most famous songs. Her album with the same name sold 1.5 million copies. This makes it the best-selling album in Romanian history.
Over her long career, Loredana has released many popular albums and hit songs. In 2012, her song "Apa" was number two on the Airplay 100 chart. She was also a coach on the first seven seasons of Vocea României, the Romanian version of the TV show The Voice.

Life and Career
Early Success
Loredana Groza was born in a Romanian town now called Onești. She began singing when she was only three years old. At age 14, music composers Dumitru Moroșanu and Zsolt Kerestely noticed her talent. They invited her to Bucharest to be on a talent show called Steaua fără nume (The Star Without a Name).
Although she was technically too young to enter, she competed on the show in 1986 when she was 16 and won the grand prize. That same year, she also won the best newcomer award at the Mamaia Music Festival. She was the youngest person ever to win this prize.
Becoming a Star
In 1987, Loredana met the famous composer Adrian Enescu. He wrote her first big hit, "Bună seara, iubito!". They worked together on her first album, also called Bună seara, iubito! (1988). The album was a massive success, even though the main song was banned from TV by the government.
Her second album, Un buchet de trandafiri (A Bouquet of Roses), came out in 1989 and was also very popular. After a break, Loredana returned in 1994 with the album Atitudine (Attitude). She then released more successful albums, including the gold-certified Tomilio in 1996. In 1998, she had a huge hit song called "Lumea e a mea" with the group B.U.G. Mafia.
Music in the 2000s
In 2001, Loredana worked with Adrian Enescu again on the album Diva înamorată. She then explored traditional Romanian music with two albums, Agurida and Zarza, vânzătoarea de plăceri.
Between 2003 and 2006, she released more albums, including Extravaganza and Jamparalele. The album Jamparalele went gold in Romania and featured the hit song "Lele". Loredana tried to represent Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest three times, in 1994, 1996, and 2006.
In 2012, Loredana released "Apa," which became her highest-charting song. It reached number two on the Romanian music charts. In 2014, she had another top 10 hit with the song "Risipitor" ("Wasteful").
Loredana has also worked as a voice actor. She was the singing voice of Gloria in the Romanian version of Happy Feet Two and voiced Barbara Gordon in The Lego Batman Movie.
Personal Life
Loredana was married to television producer Andrei Boncea. They have a daughter named Elena.
