Louise Timpson (born Louise Hollingsworth Morris Clews; November 27, 1904 – February 10, 1970) was an American woman who became a British aristocrat. She was also known as Louise Campbell, Duchess of Argyll. Louise was the second wife of Ian Douglas Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll. She was also the mother of the 12th Duke of Argyll.

Early Life and Family
Louise was born in Paris, France, in 1904. Her father was Henry Clews Jr., an American artist. Her mother was Louise Hollingsworth Morris, a well-known person in New York society.
Her grandparents on her father's side were Henry Clews, a banker from Wall Street, and Lucy Madison Clews. Lucy was related to U.S. President James Madison.
Personal Life and Marriages
First Marriage: Andrew Vanneck
On September 1, 1930, Louise married Andrew Nicholas Armstrong Vanneck. His brother, William Vanneck, was the Governor of Victoria in Australia. Louise and Andrew lived at Heveningham Hall. They did not have any children. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1933.
Second Marriage: Ian Campbell
Two years later, on November 23, 1935, Louise married Captain Ian Campbell. Ian had a daughter from his first marriage, Lady Jeanne Campbell. Lady Jeanne was mostly raised by her father.
Louise and Ian had two sons together:
- Ian Campbell, 12th Duke of Argyll (1937–2001). He married Iona Colquhoun and had two children.
- Lord Colin Ivar Campbell (born 1946). He married Georgia Arianna Ziadie, a writer.
During the Second World War, Ian Campbell was a soldier. He became a prisoner of war. Louise helped people during the war. She traveled to Lisbon and helped with relief efforts. She even arranged for beer and Christmas puddings to be sent to the prisoner of war camps.
In 1949, Ian became the Duke of Argyll. This made Louise the Duchess of Argyll. However, they divorced in 1951. Ian was known for spending a lot of money. Louise once said he "took everything but my trust funds."
Third Marriage: Robert Timpson
After her divorce, Louise moved back to the United States. In 1954, she married Robert Clermont Livingston Timpson. He was an American investment banker. Robert was from the famous Livingston family.
Louise and Robert moved into Grasmere. This was a large mansion in Rhinebeck. Louise later opened this mansion to the public.
They divorced in 1963. Louise Timpson passed away in New York in 1970. She was 65 years old.
Descendants and Family Legacy
Through her oldest son, Louise was the grandmother of Torquhil Campbell, 13th Duke of Argyll (born 1968). She was also the grandmother of Lady Louise Iona Campbell (born 1972). Lady Louise married Anthony Burrell and has children.
