The Lovell River is a cool river in eastern New Hampshire, a state in the United States. It's about 9.5 miles (15.3 kilometers) long. This river is like a smaller stream that flows into a bigger body of water. It empties into Ossipee Lake.

The Lovell River is part of a larger water system. All the water from the river and the land around it eventually flows into the Saco River. From there, it makes its way to the huge Atlantic Ocean. This whole area where water collects and flows into a main river is called a watershed or drainage basin.

Where the Lovell River Starts

The Lovell River begins high up in the Ossipee Mountains. These mountains are special because they form a big circle! They are located just south of the famous White Mountains.

The very start of the river is in the northeastern part of a town called Moultonborough. It's found in a low area between two tall peaks: Faraway Mountain and Mount Shaw. Mount Shaw is actually the highest point in the entire Ossipee Mountains.

The River's Journey

After starting in Moultonborough, the Lovell River flows towards the east. It travels into another town called Ossipee. Along its path, the river passes just south of a small body of water known as Conner Pond.

The river then leaves the mountains when it reaches New Hampshire Route 16, which is a main road. After this, it crosses a flat, narrow area of land made by the river itself, called a river delta. Finally, the Lovell River flows right into Ossipee Lake, completing its journey.
