A Look Back: Low Moor's History
Low Moor is known as the birthplace of a brave soldier named Jimmie Monteith. He was a hero in World War II. Jimmie Monteith received the Medal of Honor, which is the highest award for bravery in the U.S. military. A military camp in Kosovo was named Camp Monteith in his honor.
The community is also home to Alleghany Regional Hospital. This hospital serves the local area.

Low Moor is located in Virginia. You can find it near the coordinates 37.792094 degrees North and -79.876604 degrees West. It is situated right off Interstate 64. This highway runs between the towns of Covington and Clifton Forge.

Low Moor was used as a fictional setting in a popular TV show. It appeared in the first episode of The X-Files miniseries. This episode was called "My Struggle" and first aired on January 24, 2016.
