Lu Chen

Lu Chen (born on November 24, 1976, in Changchun, China) is a famous Chinese figure skater. She is known for her beautiful and artistic performances on the ice. Many people call her "Butterfly on Ice" because of her graceful style.

Lu Chen became a world champion in 1995, which is a huge achievement in figure skating!

Early Life and Training

Lu Chen started skating when she was just five years old in Jilin, China. Skating was a natural fit for her, as her family was very athletic. Her mother played table tennis, and her father coached ice hockey. Besides skating, Lu Chen also took ballet dancing lessons. This helped her become even more graceful and artistic on the ice.

Rising to the Top

Lu Chen quickly showed great talent. By 1992, when she was only 16, she won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships. In the same year, she also placed third at the senior World Championships, which was amazing for someone so young!

She continued to compete at the highest levels, earning many medals and titles:

Life After Competition

After her competitive career, Lu Chen continued to share her love for skating. She performed in a professional ice show called Stars on Ice for two years. Today, she runs her own ice skating club in Shenzhen, China. The club is named after her, helping new generations of skaters learn and grow.
