Luca Hänni (born 8 October 1994) is a Swiss singer and TV star. He became famous in 2012 when he won the ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar. This show is the German version of the popular Idol TV series. Luca was the first person who wasn't German to win the show. He was also the youngest winner ever.

Luca's first song, "Don't Think About Me", quickly became number one in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. After that, he released his first album, My Name Is Luca (2012). This album also reached number one in Austria and Switzerland. It even sold enough copies to be certified gold in both countries. His second album, Living the Dream, came out in 2013. It was his second album in a row to hit number one in Switzerland.

Later, Luca worked with Swiss DJ Christopher S on his third album, Dance Until We Die (2014). For his fourth album, When We Wake Up (2015), he took more control. About Luca Hänni's Life

Luca Hänni was born in Bern, Switzerland. When he was very young, in kindergarten, he started taking drumming lessons. By the age of nine, he had taught himself to play both the guitar and the piano.

After finishing school, Luca began training to become a bricklayer. However, in 2012, after two years, he decided to stop his training. He chose to focus completely on his music career instead.

Since 2020, Luca has been in a relationship with Christina Luft. She was his dancing partner on the TV show Let's Dance. In August 2023, Luca and Christina got married. In 2012, Luca Hänni tried out for the ninth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar. This is a popular German singing talent show. On April 28, 2012, he made it to the final round. He competed against another singer named Daniele Negroni. Luca won the show with 52.85 percent of the audience votes.

At that time, Luca became the only winner who was still a teenager. He was also the first winner who was not from Germany. As his prize, he received 500,000 Euros. He also got a special music contract with Universal Music Group. Both Luca and the runner-up, Daniele, also received a car and driving lessons.

Luca's first song after winning was "Don't Think About Me". It was released on May 2, 2012. The song was an instant hit! It reached gold status in Switzerland within just four days. It also debuted at number one on the music charts in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. This made Luca the first Swiss person in 52 years to have a number one song on the German Singles Charts. Luca Hänni worked with Swiss DJ Christopher S on his third album, Dance Until We Die. This album had more dance pop music. It was released by Future Soundz after Luca left Universal Music. The album reached number six on the Swiss Albums Chart. This made it his third album in a row to be in the top ten. The album also had two singles, "I Can't Get No Sleep" and "Good Time". Both of these songs made it into the top thirty on the Swiss Singles Chart. Luca and Christopher S performed at many clubs and toured through Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. However, they stopped promoting the album in August 2014. This was because Luca and Christopher S had a disagreement about sharing the money from the album and merchandise.

In November 2014, Luca wrote and released the song "Only One You". He did this in close cooperation with DKMS. DKMS is a German charity that helps people with blood cancer. Luca supports this charity. In the same month, he worked with many other Swiss musicians. These included Noëmi Nadelmann, Pepe Lienhard, and Francine Jordi. They all sang on Migros's charity Christmas song "Ensemble". This song helps people in need in Switzerland. In 2017, Luca Hänni was the person who announced Switzerland's votes in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. This contest took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. In the same year, he was a contestant on the second season of the RTL dancing show Dance Dance Dance. His dancing partner was Prince Damien, who also won Deutschland sucht den Superstar. Luca was one of the favorites to win throughout the competition. He ended up winning the competition in October 2017. In December 2018, he released the song "Bei mir." He promoted it with a dance performance on the Helene Fischer Show that same month. However, the song did not make it onto the music charts.

In March 2019, it was announced that Luca Hänni would represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. The contest was held in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Also that year, he finished third in the thirteenth season of the German talent series Let's Dance. His professional partner on the show was Christina Luft. In May 2020, he released the song "Diamant." This was the first song from his fifth studio album, 110 Karat, which was released in October 2020.
