Lucas's Career Highlights

The Fred Figglehorn Character

Lucas Cruikshank first created the Fred character for a Halloween video. He uploaded it to a YouTube channel he shared with his two cousins. When Fred became very popular, Lucas started a whole video series. He then created a special "Fred" channel in April 2008.

By April 2009, the Fred channel had over one million subscribers. This made it the first YouTube channel to reach that many followers! It was also the most-subscribed YouTube channel for about 318 days.

In December 2009, Lucas filmed Fred: The Movie. This movie was shown on Nickelodeon in September 2010. Nickelodeon liked the character so much they made more shows and movies. Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred aired in October 2011. In 2012, Fred: The Show had twenty-four episodes, and a third movie, Fred 3: Camp Fred, also aired on Nickelodeon.

Special Appearances and Sponsorships

In his Fred videos, Lucas sometimes showed different products and movies. He was seen using a Zipit and even promoted his own T-shirts. Besides his own movies, he also helped promote films like City of Ember and Year One.

Lucas also appeared as "Fred" and himself on Nickelodeon's iCarly. This episode, called "iMeet Fred", first aired on February 16, 2009. He also made a guest appearance on the Hannah Montana episode "Come Fail Away" in December 2009.

He presented awards at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards and the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards. In 2011, he appeared on the Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards and in an episode of Supah Ninjas. From 2012 to 2013, Lucas starred in the Nickelodeon TV show Marvin Marvin. He played an alien "teenage" boy trying to live a normal human life.

Other YouTube Work

Lucas Cruikshank was first part of a group called JKL Productions. This group included his cousins, Jon and Katie Smet, and Lucas. Later, Lucas left the group and started his own channel in January 2009, called "lucas". On this channel, he appeared as himself.

Between 2013 and 2014, Lucas worked with Jennifer Veal. They made many videos together on the channel, which was renamed "Lucas and Jenny". This made them both even more popular. After Jenny left in November 2014, Lucas changed the channel name back to "lucas". He continued to post vlogs, which are video blogs. In April 2019, his channel name became "Lucas". As of 2020, it has over 3 million subscribers.

Lucas also appeared in a video by fellow YouTuber Brandon Rogers. This video was called Four Million Subscriber Freakout.
