Luigi Fabbri (1877 – 1935) was an Italian writer and activist. He believed in anarchism, which is a political idea about how society should be organized without a government. Fabbri was known for sharing his ideas and was involved in discussions during World War I. He was also the father of Luce Fabbri.

About Luigi Fabbri

Luigi Fabbri was born in Fabriano, Italy, in 1877. From a young age, he was very active in sharing his anarchist beliefs. Because of his ideas, he faced difficulties and spent time in Italian prisons when he was just 16 years old.

Fabbri was a strong supporter of newspapers that shared anarchist ideas. He wrote for many of these papers in Europe and later in South America. He even helped edit a newspaper called L'Agitazione with another important anarchist, Errico Malatesta. He also worked on the paper "Università popolare" in Milan.

In 1907, Fabbri attended a big international meeting in Amsterdam. This meeting was for people who shared his anarchist views. Luigi Fabbri passed away in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1935.

His Writings and Ideas

Luigi Fabbri wrote many books and articles to explain his ideas about society and how people should live together. He believed in freedom and that people should cooperate without needing a powerful government.

Some of his important works include:

  • Life of Malatesta (about the life of Errico Malatesta)
  • Letters to a Woman on Anarchy, published in 1905
  • Workers' Organisation and Anarchy, a short book from 1906
  • The School and the Revolution, from 1912
  • Dictatorship and Revolution, from 1921

Besides writing books, Fabbri also helped start and edit several newspapers. These included Il Pensiero (meaning "The Thought"), Lotta Umana (meaning "Human Fight"), and Studi Sociale (meaning "Social Study"). He also wrote for many other publications, sharing his thoughts on social questions and freedom.
