Lula is a city located in the state of Georgia, in the United States. It is split between two counties: Hall and Banks. Most of Lula is in Hall County.
In 2020, about 2,822 people lived in Lula. The part of Lula in Hall County is part of the larger Gainesville metropolitan area. Lula is famous for its yearly "RailRoad Days" festival, usually held in May.
Lula is an important spot for trains. It's where the Norfolk Southern Railway lines from Atlanta and Athens connect. Major roads near Lula include Georgia Highway 51, Georgia Highway 52, Georgia Highway 365, and U.S. Route 23.

History of Lula
The railroad line connecting Athens to Lula was finished in 1874. This line was built for the North Eastern Railroad. Two civil engineers, Joel Hurt and his brother Fletcher, chose the name "Lula" for the town. They named it after a woman they admired, Miss Lula Phinizy.
The government of Georgia officially made Lula a town in 1905.
