Luna Shamsuddoha (born 4 October, died 17 February 2021) was a very successful businesswoman from Bangladesh. She was known for being a leader in the technology world. Luna founded her own software company, Dohatec New Media, in 1992.
She made history as the first woman to lead a state-owned bank in Bangladesh. Luna also started an important group called Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT). This group helps women get involved in the tech industry. She received the 'Bangladesh Business Award' in 2017 for her great work. She also got the 'Annona Best 10 award' for her impact on the software industry.
Early Life and School Days
Luna Shamsuddoha was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her parents were Lutfar Rahman and Hasina Rahman. She went to Viqarunnisa Noon School and College for her high school studies. Later, she attended Holy Cross College. Luna then studied at the University of Dhaka. She earned a master's degree in International Relations from there.
Her Amazing Career
Luna Shamsuddoha started her business journey in 1985. She became a Managing Partner at The Executive Center. Before that, she taught English at the British Council. She also worked as a lecturer at Dhaka University.
Her company, Dohatec New Media, creates computer software. They also help different groups set up their computer systems. Dohatec works with many important clients. These include The World Bank and the World Health Organization. They also work with the US Postal Service. Her company helped the Government of Bangladesh and the Bangladesh Army. Dohatec provides software solutions in countries like the USA, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and Bangladesh.

Luna Shamsuddoha was married to A. K. M. Shamsuddoha. He was also a businessman in Dhaka. They had one daughter named Reem Shamsuddoha. Luna Shamsuddoha passed away on 17 February 2021 in Dhaka.
