Lydia Nabawanuka, known to many as Lydia Jazmine, is a talented Ugandan singer. She was born in Masaka in 1991. Lydia Jazmine is famous for her amazing voice and popular songs.
Her Early Life and Education
Lydia Jazmine was born in Masaka in 1991. She went to Victoria Nile School for her first years of school. Later, she moved to Saint Mary's School Namaliga in Mukono District. She finished her high school studies at Cityland College Matugga in Wakiso District. In February 2016, Lydia Jazmine graduated from Multitech Business School in Kampala. She earned a degree in Business Administration and Management.
Starting Her Music Career
Lydia Jazmine began singing when she was in high school. She joined her school choir and loved it. After high school, she sang in church choirs at Passover Harvest Centre and Watoto Church. She then joined a band called Gertnum. In this band, she sang background vocals, which means she sang harmonies behind the main singer.
Later, a famous music group called Radio and Weasel signed Lydia Jazmine. She became their back-up singer. You can hear her voice on their songs "Ntunga" and "Breath Away." She also sang background vocals for other big artists like Bebe Cool and Sheebah Karungi. Her very first song as a main artist was a duet with Rabadaba. It was called "You Know" and came out around 2014.

Other Cool Projects
In 2017, Lydia Jazmine was chosen for "Coke Studio Africa 2017." This was her second time representing Uganda at the event. She worked with Liloca, a singer from Mozambique, and a music producer from South Africa named Sketchy Bongo. Coke Studio Africa is a special music show sponsored by Coca-Cola. It brings together different musicians from all over Africa. They work together with experienced local and international musicians and producers to create new music. It's a great way for artists to collaborate and share their talents.
