Lysite is a small, unincorporated community in Fremont County, Wyoming, United States. This means it's not an official town with its own government. It's located in the northeastern part of the county, a bit northeast of Lander, which is the county seat. Lysite has its own post office. In the 1800s, the famous Bridger Trail passed close by Lysite. This trail was used by people heading north to find gold in Montana.

Lysite is known for its very dry weather. In 1960, the area experienced a severe drought. It received only 1.28 inches (about 33 mm) of rain for the entire year. Lysite is home to the Lost Cabin Gas Plant. This plant and the Madden natural gas field are important for producing natural gas. They are owned and operated by a company called Contango Resources.

Every summer, the community hosts fun events called gymkhanas. These are like mini-rodeos where people can show off their riding skills. On Labor Day, Lysite holds a big rodeo. This includes a special night of Ranch Rodeo, which features events based on real ranch work.
