Macarena García (born April 26, 1988) is a talented Spanish actress. She won a big award, the Goya Award for Best New Actress, for her role in the 2012 silent movie Snow White. She has also starred in other popular films like Palm Trees in the Snow and Holy Camp!. You might also know her from TV shows such as El ministerio del tiempo and La mesías.

Macarena García was born on April 26, 1988, in Madrid, Spain. Her parents are Francisco Javier García de la Camacha and Sofía Gutiérrez-Ambrossi. She has an older brother, Javier Ambrossi, who is also an actor.
Early Life and Training
Macarena started training at a young age. When she was eight, she began artistic gymnastics. At fourteen, she added dance to her training, learning modern dance and funk. She took classes at the Carmen Senra and Academia Broadway dance schools.
She also learned to sing from Rosario Ruiz and Nora Troyani. In recent years, she has also taken guitar lessons. Macarena studied psychology at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Macarena García's Acting Career
Macarena García began her acting career early. She got her first role at age thirteen. She played Canelilla in a musical called En nombre de la Infanta Carlota. This musical was performed for several seasons in Madrid.
She also starred as Gabriella Montez in the musical High School Musical. Her co-star in that show was Daniel Diges.
Television Roles
Macarena has appeared in many TV series. Some of her early roles were in Hospital Central, Punta Escarlata, and The Boarding School. She became well-known for playing Chelo in Amar en tiempos revueltos from 2010 to 2012. Chelo was the daughter of the doorman in the show.
In 2013, she played Vera in Luna, el misterio de Calenda. This was a series on the Antena 3 channel. From 2017 to 2020, she played a younger version of Lola Mendieta in El ministerio del tiempo. This is a popular time-travel TV series.
In 2021 and 2022, she starred as Paula Costa in the series Paradise. In 2023, she played Irene / Resurrección in her brother Javier Ambrossi's series La mesías. Her character was a woman who had escaped a family cult. For this role, she was nominated for a Feroz Award for Best Main Actress in a Series.
Film Roles
Macarena's big break in movies came in 2012. She played the main role of Carmen/Blancanieves in the silent film Snow White. The film was directed by Pablo Berger. For this role, she won the Silver Shell for Best Actress at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. She also won the Goya Award for Best New Actress.
In 2015, she played Julia in the film Palm Trees in the Snow. This was a large production for Spanish cinema. In 2017, she starred in the musical comedy Holy Camp!. This film was directed by her brother Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo. It was based on their musical play La llamada, where Macarena also starred. In the movie, she played María, a teenager who feels a special calling from God at a Catholic summer camp.
She also appeared in the black comedy film Advantages of Travelling by Train in 2019. In 2024, she played Marta in the comedy-drama film A House on Fire. Marta was a new girlfriend who was learning Catalan. Her performance earned her a Goya Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.
Macarena García is expected to join the cast of a film called Perseidas. This movie is planned to start filming in late 2025.
