Victor "Macho" Harris, Jr. was born on February 16, 1986. He is a former professional football player from the United States. He played as a defensive back in two major leagues. These were the National Football League (NFL) and the Canadian Football League (CFL). Macho Harris played college football for the Virginia Tech Hokies. The Philadelphia Eagles picked him in the 2009 NFL draft. He also played for the Washington Redskins and Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL. In the CFL, he played for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Early Life and High School Football
Victor "Macho" Harris grew up in Highland Springs, Virginia. He played many positions in high school football. These included Running Back, Kick Returner, Punt Returner, and Safety. He earned many top honors, like All-State and Parade All-American. He was also named a U.S Army All-American.
In his junior year, Harris ran for 2,346 yards. He scored 27 touchdowns that season. He finished his high school career with the most rushing yards in his region. In 2005, he was ranked the top high school football player from Virginia.
College Career at Virginia Tech
Macho Harris started playing for the Virginia Tech Hokies. He was their top cornerback. In his junior year, he was chosen for the first-team All-ACC. This means he was one of the best players in his college league.
He scored five touchdowns during his time at Virginia Tech. These included a 72-yard interception return in 2006. He also had a 100-yard kickoff return in 2007. He made 15 interceptions in total during his college career. Harris thought about leaving college early for the NFL draft. But he decided to stay for his senior year instead.
Professional Football Career
Macho Harris had a long career in professional football. He played in both the NFL and the CFL.
Joining the NFL
Before the 2009 NFL draft, Harris showed off his skills. He had very fast times in the 20-yard shuttle and 3 cone drill. These drills test a player's quickness and agility. His times were among the best for cornerbacks.
Philadelphia Eagles (2009-2010)
The Philadelphia Eagles picked Macho Harris in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL draft. He started the 2009 season as the main free safety. He played well enough to earn this starting spot. Later, he shared playing time with another player, Sean Jones. Harris took back the starting position for the last two games of the season. This included a playoff game.
In 2010, Harris was expected to compete for the starting safety job again. He also practiced as a cornerback, which he played in college. However, he was later switched back to free safety. The Eagles released him in September 2010.
Washington Redskins (2010-2011)
The Washington Redskins signed Harris in November 2010. He played in three games for them that year. He was released by the Redskins in July 2011.
Pittsburgh Steelers (2011)
Macho Harris then signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in August 2011. However, he was released before the regular season began.

Saskatchewan Roughriders (2012-2015)
Harris joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders in April 2012. He was released briefly but returned to the team later that year. In 2012, he played in two games and made 7 tackles.
In 2013, he played more often, making 23 tackles. He also got his first career interception in the CFL. In 2014, Harris started 16 games as a defensive back. He had his best season with 61 tackles and 2 sacks. The Roughriders signed him to a contract extension in March 2015.
In one game in 2015, Harris had an amazing performance. He made 3 interceptions, including one he returned 50 yards for a touchdown. This tied a Roughrider record for the most interceptions in a single game.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2016)
In 2016, Macho Harris played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the CFL.
Personal Life
Macho Harris is the son of Victor Harris and the late Maritza Harris. His father gave him the nickname "Macho" when he was only two years old. He lives in Regina, Saskatchewan, with his wife, Kylie Harris. They recently welcomed a baby girl named Kamila Harris.
