Mackenzie Rio Davis (born April 1, 1987) is a talented Canadian actress. She started her film career in 2012. In 2013, she appeared in the movie The F Word, which earned her a nomination for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Actress. From 2014 to 2017, she played a computer programmer named Cameron Howe in the TV series Halt and Catch Fire on AMC.
In 2016, Davis starred in the Emmy-winning Black Mirror episode "San Junipero", where her acting was highly praised. She also appeared in popular films like The Martian (2015) and Blade Runner 2049 (2017). In 2018, she played the main character in the comedy-drama film Tully. Later, she starred as a super-soldier in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019) and was in the romantic comedy Happiest Season (2020). In 2021, she had a main role in the miniseries Station Eleven, which won her a Critics' Choice Super Award.

Early Life and Education
Mackenzie Davis was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Her mother, Lotte, is a graphic designer, and her father, John Davis, is a hairdresser from Liverpool, England. Her parents own a company called AG Hair.
She finished high school at Collingwood School in West Vancouver in 2005. After that, she went to McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She then decided to study acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City.
Acting Career Highlights

Mackenzie Davis has been in many interesting films and TV shows. In 2015, she played Mindy Park, a NASA satellite communications engineer, in the movie The Martian.
From 2014 to 2017, she was a main character in the TV series Halt and Catch Fire. She played Cameron Howe, a very talented computer programmer, for all four seasons of the show.
In 2016, she co-starred as Yorkie in "San Junipero", an episode of the TV series Black Mirror. This episode won two Emmy Awards. She also played Mariette in the science fiction film Blade Runner 2049.
In 2019, she appeared in Terminator: Dark Fate. In this movie, she played Grace Harper, a super-soldier sent from the future to protect someone named Dani Ramos. In October 2019, she was chosen for the main role in the HBO Max miniseries Station Eleven.
In 2020, Davis starred as Kate in The Turning, a modern horror film. She also played Diana Hastings in Irresistible, a movie about how money affects elections. She also starred in the 2020 romantic comedy Happiest Season alongside Kristen Stewart.
In June 2020, it was announced that Davis would be part of the cast for the science-fiction comedy Alpha Gang. This movie also features actors like Jon Hamm and Nicholas Hoult.
From February to April 2023, she performed on stage as Isolde in a play called Phaedra at the National Theatre in London.
Her short film WOACA, which she directed for the first time, was shown at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival.
