A Look Back in Time
The history of Magomadas is quite interesting! Experts believe that the town might have been founded a very long time ago by the Phoenicians. The Phoenicians were an ancient people who were famous for their sailing and trading across the Mediterranean Sea.
The name Macomades is found in many old settlements along the western Mediterranean coast. In Hebrew, which is a language similar to ancient Phoenician, the words maqom ħadaš mean "new place." This suggests that Magomadas might have been a new settlement for the Phoenicians when they first arrived.
