Mahashankar Vishwanath Thaker (born around 1867 – died around 1902) was an important official in a place called Limbdi. He served as the Chief Treasurer of the Princely State of Limbdi. This state was ruled by the Jhala Rajput family.

A Chief Treasurer was like the main money manager for the state. They were in charge of all the finances, including collecting taxes and making sure the state's money was used wisely.

Mahashankar Thaker came from an important family. His older brother was Pranjivan Vishwanath Thaker. Pranjivan was a "Diwan" for another Princely State called Vadia. A Diwan was like a prime minister or chief minister, helping the ruler manage the state.

Mahashankar Thaker passed away quite young, at about 35 years old. Even though he died young, he had five sons. One of his sons, Dhirajlal Thaker, also became an important person. Dhirajlal worked as the Paymaster General for the Port of Karachi. This meant he was in charge of paying people who worked at the busy port.
