Pranjivan Vishwanath Thaker was an important leader who lived from around 1860 to 1920. He served as the Diwan of Saurashtra, a region in Gujarat, India. A Diwan was like a chief minister or a very important official who helped rule a state.
During his time, Saurashtra was under Rajput rule, meaning it was governed by local kings or princes from the Rajput community. Pranjivan Thaker held the highest executive office, which means he was in charge of many important decisions and actions for the region.
His Family and Legacy
Pranjivan Thaker had a brother named Mahashankar Vishwanath Thaker. Mahashankar was also an important person, serving as the Chief Treasurer for the princely state of Limbdi. A princely state was a region in India that was still ruled by its own local king or prince, even when the British Empire had a lot of influence in India.
Today, many of Pranjivan Thaker's family members, his descendants, live in the United States of America.
