Maickel Melamed (born April 27, 1975, in Caracas, Venezuela) is an amazing Venezuelan athlete, speaker, and teacher. He is known for inspiring many people around the world. Even though he has a physical disability, Maickel has achieved incredible things.
Maickel was born with a condition called generalized muscle hypotonia. This means his muscles have low tone, making it harder for him to move. This condition was caused by a complicated birth. Despite these challenges, Maickel has shown incredible strength and determination.

Maickel Melamed is famous for completing some of the toughest long-distance races in the world. He has finished several major Marathons, which are races that are about 42 kilometers (26 miles) long.
Running Marathons
