Maisy is a popular British animated TV show for young children. It is based on a series of books created by Lucy Cousins. The show features a friendly mouse named Maisy and her animal friends.
In the original UK version, the show is narrated by Neil Morrissey. In the US, Brian Greene tells the stories. The unique sounds and voices for the characters are made by the Umbilical Brothers. The series was made by King Rollo Films, PolyGram Visual Programming, and Universal Television.
Maisy was first shown in the United Kingdom on CITV. In the United States, it was seen on Nick Jr. and later on Qubo. Australian viewers could watch it on Network Ten.
About Maisy's World
The show follows the daily adventures of Maisy Mouse and her friends. A calm narrator describes everything that happens and talks to the characters. The animal characters do not speak words. Instead, they make fun sounds and noises that show how they are feeling. The narrator understands them perfectly and helps the audience understand the story. The animation style looks just like the original books, with simple, colorful drawings.
Meet the Characters
Here are the main characters you'll meet in Maisy's world:
- Maisy – A four-year-old mouse. She lives in a bright orange house with a red roof. Maisy loves to paint and play with her friends. Her birthday is on February 10th.
- Panda – Maisy's favorite stuffed toy panda.
- Tallulah – A four-year-old chick. She almost always wears a pretty dress and a hair bow. Her birthday is on July 4th.
- Cyril – A six-year-old squirrel. He often wears a green shirt.
- Charley – An eight-year-old crocodile. He really loves to eat!
- Eddie – A nine-year-old elephant. Eddie is very big, and sometimes his size makes it hard for him to join in games.
Maisy on Home Video
Maisy episodes were released on VHS tapes in the US from 1999 to 2007. After that, they became available on DVD. Universal Studios Home Entertainment released many of these videos. The series was also released on video and DVD in the United Kingdom.
