Majid Nizami (born April 3, 1928 – died July 26, 2014) was a very important journalist and editor in Pakistan. He was the chairman of the Majid Nizami Trust. He also led the Nawa-i-Waqt Group of Publications, which publishes newspapers.
The Nawa-i-Waqt newspaper was started by Majid's older brother, Hameed Nizami, in 1940. After Hameed Nizami passed away in 1962, Majid Nizami took over. He started managing the newspaper group that same year. Majid Nizami was also the chairman of the Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust.
Early Life and Career
Majid Nizami grew up in his hometown of Sangla Hill. He went to Islamia College in Lahore for his higher education. There, he earned a master's degree in Political Science. Later, in 1954, he traveled to London to study law.
During his time as a student in British India, Majid Nizami was very active. He took part in the Pakistan Movement, which worked for the independence of Pakistan in 1947. He was one of the few people who worked as an editor for a newspaper group for 48 years. He was also a journalist for a total of 59 years.
