Malcolm Hill (born October 26, 1995) is an American professional basketball player. He has played for teams in the National Basketball Association (NBA) like the New Orleans Pelicans and the Chicago Bulls. He also played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Choosing a College Team
After his junior year, Malcolm decided to play college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini. He had many other great schools interested in him, like Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio State.
Breaking Scoring Records
In his senior year, Malcolm scored an amazing 708 points! This was more than his junior year record of 666 points. He averaged 25.3 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game. He was also one of the top players considered for the "Mr. Illinois Basketball" award.
College Career Highlights
Malcolm played college basketball for the Illinois Fighting Illini from 2013 to 2017. He quickly became a key player for his team.
First Big Games
On February 9, 2014, Malcolm started his first college game. He scored 11 points and helped his team win, ending a tough losing streak.
Scoring Big Points
In 2015, as a sophomore, Malcolm scored a career-high 28 points against the 11th-ranked Maryland team. This was a huge win for Illinois, especially since their main scorer was injured.
As a junior, Malcolm scored an incredible 39 points in a game against Penn State. This was one of the highest scores ever by an Illinois player! He also became the only Illinois player to get over 600 points, 200 rebounds, and 100 assists in one season. The next year, he topped that with 40 points in a game against Northern Kentucky.
Awards and Recognition
Malcolm was recognized as one of the best college shooting guards in the country. After his senior year, he was invited to a special tournament to show off his skills to professional teams.
Professional Basketball Journey
After college, Malcolm Hill began his professional basketball career, playing for teams around the world and in the NBA.
Starting in the Philippines and Germany
In 2017, Malcolm joined the Oklahoma City Thunder for a summer league. He then signed with the Star Hotshots in the Philippine Basketball Association. He averaged 26 points per game there! Later that year, he moved to Germany to play for Telekom Baskets Bonn. In 2018, he played for another German team, MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg.
Playing in Kazakhstan and Israel
In 2019, Malcolm signed with BC Astana in Kazakhstan. He was a top scorer there, averaging 20.2 points per game. In 2020, he joined Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel.
NBA G League and NBA Teams
In 2021, Malcolm joined the Birmingham Squadron, a team in the NBA G League. He played very well, averaging 16.9 points and 6.1 rebounds.
- Atlanta Hawks (2021-2022): Malcolm got a chance to play in the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks in December 2021. He played in 3 games.
- Chicago Bulls (2022-2023): In January 2022, Malcolm signed with the Chicago Bulls. He played for them on a special "two-way contract," which means he could play for both the Bulls and their G League team, the Windy City Bulls.
- New Orleans Pelicans and Birmingham Squadron (2023-2024): Malcolm returned to the Birmingham Squadron in 2023. He also signed with the New Orleans Pelicans multiple times, continuing to play between the NBA and the G League.

International Experience
In 2015, Malcolm was invited to a training camp for the U.S. Pan American Men's Basketball team. This was a chance to represent his country in an international competition. Although he wasn't chosen for the final team, it was a great experience.
About Malcolm's Life
Malcolm Hill was born in St. Louis, Missouri. When he was four, his family moved to Belleville, Illinois. Before focusing on basketball, he also played soccer and baseball. His father, Malcolm, also played college basketball.
In 2012, Malcolm had surgery for a blood clot in his arm. He recovered fully and continued his amazing basketball career.
