Maliibu Miitch grew up in New York City after being born in Charlotte, North Carolina. She started rapping in 2009. Before becoming a solo artist, she was part of a hip hop group called Malibu N Helene.
In 2013, her group released their first music collection called Hood Foreign. A year later, they signed with big music labels like Def Jam and Island Records. Early Life and Beginnings
Maliibu Miitch's mother, Venessa White, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. She grew up in New York City. There, she met Maliibu's father, Brett Roberts, who was a refugee from Vietnam. When Maliibu was three years old, her mother moved to New York City with Maliibu and her two other siblings.
Maliibu started modeling when she was 17. But she quickly became interested in rapping. In 2011, Maliibu appeared in a music video for the rapper Jim Jones. This experience made her want to rap even more.
Maliibu Miitch's Music Career
In 2009, Maliibu Miitch began rapping. She would freestyle with others in her neighborhood in the South Bronx. What started as a fun hobby soon led to her first record deal in 2011. She signed with Darin "Dee" Dean, the CEO of Ruff Ryders. The famous producer Swizz Beatz also supported this deal.
In 2013, when she was 21, Maliibu Miitch decided to work independently. She started her own music company, which was run by all women. Later that year, she released her first extended play (EP) called Hood Foreign.
In 2014, Maliibu Miitch signed her first major record deal with Island Records. There, she worked with a female singer. They released two songs in 2015: "Figure8" and "Starin At It." After taking a break from music for two years, Roberts came back in 2017. She released her EP, "Top 5," and new songs like "Gwapamole" and "4 AM."
Soon after, Maliibu Miitch signed another deal, this time with Atlantic Records. This was her second big record deal, but her very first as a solo artist. In 2018, she released the song "Give Her Some Money." She is now working on her first full album with Entertainment One Music.
