Malkoch Peak facts for kids
Malkoch Peak is a mountain peak located in a very cold place called Antarctica. It stands tall at 1300 meters (about 4,265 feet) above sea level. This peak is found in the southeastern part of a higher area known as Petvar Heights. This whole region is part of the larger Sentinel Range within the Ellsworth Mountains.
Malkoch Peak offers amazing views. To its west, you can see the Carey Glacier, which is a slow-moving river of ice. To its east, there's the Rutford Ice Stream, another massive flow of ice.

Malkoch Peak is located at 78°49′17″S 84°01′39″W / 78.82139°S 84.02750°W. This means it's very far south on our planet! It's part of the huge continent of Antarctica, which is mostly covered in ice.
This peak is surrounded by other interesting spots in the Sentinel Range:
- It is about 5.83 kilometers (3.62 miles) east-northeast of Fruzhin Peak.
- It is about 8.94 kilometers (5.56 miles) southeast of Miller Peak.
- It is about 2.52 kilometers (1.57 miles) south of Ruset Peak.
- It is about 8.57 kilometers (5.33 miles) north of Mountainview Ridge.
Scientists and mapmakers from the United States first mapped this area in 1961. They updated their maps again in 1988 to make them even more accurate.
