Mall del Norte is a very large shopping mall located in Laredo, Texas. It's a popular place for shopping and fun! The mall first opened its doors in 1977. Since then, it has been updated and made bigger several times. These updates happened in 1991, 1993, 2007, and 2012.
You can find Mall del Norte right next to Interstate 35. This area of Laredo is a busy spot for stores and businesses. The mall is huge, covering about 1,212,515 sq ft (112,646 m2) of space. It has more than 160 different stores! This makes it the second largest mall in South Texas. It's also one of the biggest malls in all of Texas. Only La Plaza Mall in McAllen, Texas, is a little bit larger.
In 2007, during one of its big updates, new places were built. A Cinemark Theater 16 and a Circuit City store were added. These new spots were built where an old store called Montgomery Ward used to be. Today, the mall is owned by a company called CBL & Associates Properties.
A store called Sears used to be at the mall. It closed down in September 2020.
