Marc Forné Molné's Life
Early Life and Education
Marc Forné was born on December 30, 1946, in La Massana, a town in Andorra. His father, Antoni Forné i Jou, was a lawyer and an activist. His mother, Joana Molné i Armengou, was also born in La Massana.
He went to the University of Barcelona in Spain. In 1974, he finished his studies and earned a degree in law. Before becoming a lawyer, he worked for the government of Andorra from 1969 to 1972. After graduating, he became a criminal lawyer, working with his father and brother.
Political Career and Other Roles
In 1985, Marc Forné joined the Liberal Party of Andorra. This political party aims to promote freedom and individual rights. He became the president of this party.
For eleven years, he was in charge of a weekly newspaper called Andorra-7. He started this newspaper in 1978. He was also the president of the Moto Club of the Principality of Andorra, which is a club for motorcycle enthusiasts.
Leading Andorra
Marc Forné became the Prime Minister of Andorra in 1994. He served two full terms, which means he was in office for a long time. As Prime Minister, he was the head of the government and helped make important decisions for the country.
After his time as Prime Minister ended in 2005, Albert Pintat took over. Pintat won the election that was held in April 2005.
