Her Unique Music Style
Marcela Rodríguez's music often makes you think of nature, like beautiful landscapes. It also explores human feelings and different cultures. Even though she learned most of her music in Mexico, she feels her music is not just "Latin American." She mixes ideas from many different countries. This gives her music a very special sound. European culture, especially Spain, has influenced her a lot. She once said, "Spain is part of my life."
One of her pieces, Asilah, mixes Arabian and Spanish cultures. The music in Asilah takes you on a journey. It starts with sounds like northern Morocco, near Spain, and slowly changes to sounds like southern Morocco. This piece is similar to her work El Horizonte, which is also inspired by natural landscapes.
