Marcus Deshon Haislip (born December 22, 1980) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a power forward. Marcus is 6 feet 10 inches (2.08 meters) tall and weighs 230 pounds (104 kg).
He grew up in Lewisburg, Tennessee, and went to Marshall County High School. Marcus became well-known playing college basketball for the University of Tennessee from 1999 to 2002. After college, he played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and other top leagues in Europe and Asia.

Marcus Haislip's Basketball Journey
Starting in the NBA
Marcus Haislip was chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks as the 13th player in the 2002 NBA draft. In his first year, he started the last nine games of the 2002–03 NBA season. He mostly played from the bench for his first two seasons with the Bucks. In November 2004, he joined the Indiana Pacers. He helped the Pacers when they needed a power forward.
Playing in Turkey
In 2005, Marcus moved to Turkey to play for Ülkerspor. He was chosen for the Turkish Basketball Super League All-Star Game. He even won the Slam Dunk contest! In August 2006, he signed with another strong Turkish team, Efes Pilsen.
Marcus returned to the U.S. with Efes Pilsen in October 2006. They played exhibition games against NBA teams. He scored 13 points and grabbed 9 rebounds against the Golden State Warriors. In July 2007, he signed with Unicaja Málaga, a Spanish team.
Back to the NBA and Europe
On July 8, 2009, Marcus signed with the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. He played ten games for them before leaving in January 2010. His last NBA game was on January 16, 2010, against the Memphis Grizzlies.
After leaving the NBA, Marcus signed with Panathinaikos, a big team in Greece, in January 2010. Later that year, in September, he joined Caja Laboral in Spain.
Adventures in Asia and Africa
In January 2011, Marcus moved to China to play for the Guangdong Southern Tigers. He then played for the Foshan Dralions in December 2011.
In March 2012, he signed with Champville SC in Lebanon. He helped them win the Lebanese championship for the first time ever! After that, he returned to China. He played for the Dongguan Leopards in 2012 and the Jiangsu Dragons in 2013.
In November 2014, Marcus played for Club Africain in Tunisia. He then returned to Turkey to play for Eskişehir Basket.
Later Career Teams
In December 2015, Marcus signed with Türk Telekom in Turkey. In May 2016, he played for the Guizhou White Tigers in China. His final team was Gaziantep Basketbol in Turkey, where he played in 2016 and 2017.
