Marek Heinz (born August 4, 1977) is a former professional footballer from the Czech Republic. He played as a striker, which means he was a player whose main job was to score goals. After his playing career, he became a coach.

Marek Heinz's Football Journey
Starting Out in the Czech Republic
Marek Heinz began his football career in his home country, the Czech Republic. He played for clubs like Lázně Bohdaneč and Sigma Olomouc. These early years helped him develop his skills before he moved to play in other countries.
Playing in Germany and for His Country
In 2000, Marek moved to Germany to play for Hamburger SV. This was a big step in his career. In the same year, he also played his first game for the senior Czech Republic national team. He later played for Arminia Bielefeld in Germany. After a few years, he returned to the Czech Republic in 2003.
Becoming a Star in the Czech Republic and Euro 2004
When Marek Heinz joined Baník Ostrava in 2003, he had an amazing season. He helped Baník Ostrava win the Czech league title. He was also the top scorer in the league that year, scoring 19 goals!
His great performance earned him a spot in the Euro 2004 tournament. The Czech Republic team did very well, reaching the semi-finals. This was a proud moment for Marek and his country.
Adventures in Other European Leagues
After his success, Marek Heinz went back to Germany to play for Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2004. He then moved to Turkey in 2005 to join Galatasaray, a very famous club.
In 2005, Marek scored important goals for both his club and his country. He helped Galatasaray win a big game against Trabzonspor. He also scored a crucial goal against Finland that helped the Czech team qualify for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany.
In September 2006, Marek moved to France to play for Saint-Étienne. He later joined Nantes in August 2007. After his time in France, he returned to the Czech Republic to play for 1. FC Brno and then moved to Austria to play for Kapfenberger SV.
Returning Home to Olomouc
In 2011, Marek Heinz returned to his former club, Sigma Olomouc, in the Czech Republic. He signed a two-year contract. He played many matches in his first season back. Later, he went on loan to 1. SC Znojmo in January 2013 for the rest of that season.
Marek Heinz's Coaching Career
After his playing days, Marek Heinz decided to stay in football as a coach. In June 2025, he was appointed as an assistant coach for Sigma Olomouc B. This means he now helps train and guide younger players at a club he knows very well.
