A Look at Margie's Past
Margie used to be a stop on the Northern Pacific Railroad. Today, that old railroad line has been turned into the Blue Ox Trail, which is a path for walking, biking, and other outdoor activities.
A post office was opened in Margie in November 1903. It was named after the daughter of the first postmaster, Westley Horton. The post office was located inside their store. Margie was built on high ground between two swampy areas. In the past, the community had several stores and even a sawmill. The original post office served the community until 1985.
