Maria Elisa's Early Life and Education
Maria Elisa was born in Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal. She started her studies at the Medical School of the University of Lisbon. She studied there for two years.
After that, she spent two years at the Drama School. From 1974 to 1977, she trained to become a professional journalist. She did this training in Paris, France.

Maria Elisa started working for RTP. This is the public television channel in Portugal. Since 1977, she has created and hosted her own TV shows. These shows focused on politics and culture.
