Marie Reine is a small community known as a hamlet in northwest Alberta, Canada. It is located within Northern Sunrise County. You can find it about 18 kilometers (11 miles) south of the town of Peace River. Highway 744 runs through the community.
History of Marie Reine
This French Canadian community began between 1949 and 1952. Settlers from Quebec and France moved west to find a better life. The hamlet has a special community design created by L’Abbe Pierre Paul Pothier. In this plan, each property is a long, narrow strip of land about 20 acres in size, stretching out from Highway 744.

In 2010, Northern Sunrise County conducted a local census. This count showed that the population of Marie Reine was 67 people.
