Marin Hinkle (born March 23, 1966) is a talented American actress. She is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows. You might recognize her as Judy Brooks in the drama Once and Again, Judith Harper-Melnick in the comedy Two and a Half Men, or Rose Weissman in the hit series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. For her work in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Marin was nominated for a special award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in both 2019 and 2020.

Marin Hinkle's Early Life
Marin Hinkle was born in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, which is a country in Africa. Her parents were Americans who met while working for the Peace Corps. Her mom, Margaret, became a judge, and her dad, Rodney, was a college dean and teacher. When Marin was just four months old, her family moved to Boston, Massachusetts, in the United States. Two years later, her brother Mark was born. Marin also has Italian family roots. After finishing high school at Newton South High School, she went to Brown University and then studied acting at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She graduated in 1991.

Marin Hinkle has had a busy career acting in plays, on TV, and in movies.
Stage Performances
Marin started her acting journey on stage. In 1994, she played Juliet in the famous play Romeo and Juliet in Washington, D.C. She also performed on Broadway, which is the highest level of theater in New York City. She was in plays like The Tempest in 1995 and Electra in 1998. In 2005, she played the main character in a play called Miss Julie.
Television Roles
Marin's TV career began on a soap opera called Another World. She then became well-known for playing Judy Brooks in the ABC drama Once and Again from 1999 to 2002.
One of her most famous roles was Judith Harper-Melnick in the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men. She played the ex-wife of the character Alan. Even though she was a main cast member, her appearances became less frequent in later seasons. This might have been because she took on a new role as Samantha Bowers in the NBC drama Deception in 2013.
Marin has also made guest appearances on many other popular TV shows. These include Spin City, Law & Order: SVU, Without a Trace, ER, and House. From 2017 to 2023, she played Rose Weissman in the award-winning series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. In 2024, she appeared in the miniseries We Were the Lucky Ones.
