Early Life and Music Start
Marion Hall was born in Galina, a town in Saint Mary, Jamaica. When she was a child, she went to Galina Primary School. As a teenager, she worked sewing clothes in Kingston, Jamaica. At just 15 years old, she began singing with local music groups called sound systems. She later worked with the Stereo One sound system in Kingston.

Starting as Lady Saw (1987–1995)
In 1987, Marion Hall chose the stage name "Lady Saw." She was inspired by a famous Jamaican singer named Tenor Saw. Her performances caught the attention of music producers. She recorded her first songs, and "Love Me or Lef Me" became popular on the radio. Her first big hit was "If Him Lef," and she topped the Jamaican music charts with "Find a Good Man."
After her success, she started working on her first album. In August 1994, she released her first album, called Lover Girl.
Growing Success (1996–2003)
In 1996, Lady Saw released her second album, Give Me the Reason. This album included popular songs like "Give Me the Reason" and "Good Wuk."
Her album Passion came out in June 1997. It was her first album to appear on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart, reaching number 8. Songs from this album included "Healing" and "Sycamore Tree."
In February 1998, she released her first collection of popular songs, Raw, the Best of Lady Saw. Later that year, in December 1998, her fourth album, 99 Ways, reached number 10 on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart.
In 1999, she had a big hit in the United States with the song "Smile." She sang this song with Vitamin C. It became very popular in the US, New Zealand, and Canada. It sold over 500,000 copies, earning a gold award. In 2002, she worked with the band No Doubt on their song "Underneath It All." This song was a huge success, selling over three million copies. It also won a Grammy Award for 'Best Performance by a Duo or Group'.
Continued Hits (2004–2007)
In August 2004, Lady Saw released her fifth album. This album reached number 84 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It also reached number 14 on Billboard's Top Reggae Albums chart. The main song from the album, "I've Got Your Man," became very popular around the world. Other songs from this album included "Man is the Least" and "Move Your Body."
In 2006, she was featured on a song called "Strut" by Steven Seagal. She also helped write the song.
In March 2007, Lady Saw released the song "No Less Than a Woman (Infertility)." This song talked about the challenges some women face with not being able to have children. New Music and Helping Others (2009–2015)
In 2009, Lady Saw released another collection of her best songs, Extra Raw: The First Lady of Dancehall. In January 2010, she started her own music company called Divas Records. She released the song "Party Till December" in August 2010. Her album My Way came out in December 2010. That same year, she was featured on Trina's song "Dang A Lang" with Nicki Minaj.
In 2012, she released a short album called "Two Man." She also released the song "Heels On" in October 2012. In November 2012, she shared that she would focus on Gospel music instead of dancehall. In August 2013, she released the song "Nuh Tek Mi Man."
In 2014, she released her album Alter Ego. This album featured other artists like Beres Hammond and Flo Rida. It reached number 6 on the Top Reggae Albums chart. In the same year, she started The Lady Saw Foundation. This foundation helps women who are in need.

Becoming Minister Marion Hall (2016–Present)
On December 15, 2015, Marion Hall was baptized. After this, she announced that she would no longer be known as "Lady Saw." Instead, she would be called Minister Marion Hall or simply Marion Hall. She also said she would no longer perform dancehall music. She decided to start a new music career in gospel music.
She released several gospel songs, such as "Jesus in the End" and "Cup of Blessings." In July 2016, she released her first gospel album, When God Speaks.
In June 2018, Hall released the song "I'm Gonna Fast." This song was from her album His Grace, which came out on July 20, 2018.
In April 2020, Hall mentioned that she believed she was not given a special O-1 visa for the United States. She thought this was because she no longer used the name "Lady Saw."
