Markus Michael Patrick Feehily (born 28 May 1980) is an Irish singer. He is best known as a member of the famous pop group Westlife. Westlife has released many albums and gone on many world tours. They have won several awards and are one of the most successful music groups ever. Mark Feehily has had 15 number one songs on the UK Singles Chart.

Mark Feehily's Music Career

Early Days with Six as One and IOYOU

Mark Feehily became famous as one of the two main singers of the boy band Westlife. The other main singer is Shane Filan. Before Westlife, Mark, Shane, and Kian Egan were in a six-member boy band called IOYOU. This group was first named Six As One. They released a song called "Together Girl Forever".

Louis Walsh, who managed the band Boyzone, heard about the group. The final members of Westlife came together on 3 July 1998. They were Mark Feehily, Shane Filan, and Kian Egan from the original group. Nicky Byrne and Bryan McFadden joined after trying out in Dublin. Ronan Keating from Boyzone also helped manage the group.

Mark Feehily's Role in Westlife

Mark Feehily has sung solo parts in many Westlife songs. These include "Imaginary Diva" and "Moon River". He also sang alone on "Talk Me Down" and "Before It's Too Late".

When Westlife performs live, Mark often sings solo on songs like "Oh Holy Night". He has also helped write several songs for the band. Mark once said that being in Westlife is "the best job in the world".

Solo Music Career (2015–2018)

Besides Westlife, Mark Feehily also released music on his own. He used the name "Markus Feehily" for his solo work. His first solo album, Fire, came out on 16 October 2015. It included the song "Butterfly".

He also performed as a supporting act for famous singers like Mariah Carey. In 2017, he released his second album, Christmas. This album featured his version of the song "River" by Joni Mitchell.

Westlife Reunion and The Masked Singer

In October 2018, Westlife announced they were getting back together. They started touring again in 2019 with "The 20 Tour". This tour celebrated 20 years since their first song, "Swear It Again".

Westlife also released new music. Their song "Hello My Love" was first shown on the Graham Norton Show in January 2019. In 2022, Mark Feehily appeared on the TV show The Masked Singer in the UK. He was dressed as "Robobunny" and finished in third place.

Mark also acted in a special concert version of the musical The Secret Garden. He played the role of Neville Craven in London in August 2022.

Mark Feehily has helped write many Westlife songs. He also wrote all fifteen songs on his first solo album. He has written many other songs that have not been released.

In 2020, he announced that he and Shane Filan wrote a new song. It was called "One of a Kind" and was sung by Emeli Sandé and Ronan Keating.

Mark Feehily's Personal Life

Mark Feehily was born in Sligo, Ireland. His parents are Marie and Oliver Feehily. He has two younger brothers. He loves Sligo's beautiful environment, which he says helped him want to be a musician. When he was a child, he loved singing and playing the tin whistle. His favorite singer has always been Mariah Carey. Westlife even sang a song with her called "Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)".

In February 2019, Mark announced that he was engaged to Cailean O'Neill. They were on holiday in the Maldives. On 3 October of the same year, Mark and Cailean announced that their daughter, Layla, was born.

Mark Feehily supports charity work, including the group Aware. He was recognized in 2011 as one of the top 50 most influential gay individuals. He also supports his local football club, Sligo Rovers F.C..

Mark Feehily and Westlife have won many awards. In 2013, Mark won the "Artist/Entertainer of the Year" award at The Galas.
