Marmot Basin is a fun ski area located in Alberta's beautiful Jasper National Park. It's a great place for skiing and snowboarding!

This ski area has 91 different ski runs spread across four mountain faces. You can ski down over 3,000 feet from top to bottom! Marmot Basin has seven lifts that can carry almost 12,000 skiers every hour. The ski season usually runs from mid-November until early May.

Marmot Basin is about 20 minutes south of the town of Jasper. Jasper is a popular town that welcomes over two million visitors each year. Jasper National Park is famous for its amazing Rocky Mountain views. You can also enjoy hiking, trail riding tours, and whitewater rafting there.

What You Can Do at Marmot Basin

Ski and Snowboard Rentals

If you don't have your own gear, no problem! The Rental & Repair shop at Marmot Basin has everything you need. You can rent skis, snowboards, boots, and poles. They have both standard and high-performance gear. You'll find the rental shop at the main Caribou Chalet.

Snow Sports School

Want to learn how to ski or snowboard? The Snow Sports School is there to help! They offer lessons for beginners and special classes for more advanced skiers and snowboarders. There are also fun programs just for kids.

Child Care for Little Ones

If you have younger siblings (19 months to 6 years old), the Little Rascals Nursery can look after them. This means parents and older kids can enjoy the slopes while the little ones are safe and happy.

Mountain Lodges and Places to Eat

Marmot Basin has three cozy lodges on the mountain where you can warm up and grab a bite.

  • The Caribou Chalet is at the bottom of the ski area.
  • The Eagle Chalet and Paradise Chalet are halfway up the mountain.

These lodges have cafeterias, dining rooms, and outdoor sun decks. There are also areas where you can eat your own packed lunch.

Awesome Terrain Parks

If you love jumps and tricks, Marmot Basin has three exciting terrain parks! These parks are located in the lower, middle, and upper parts of the mountain. They feature different rail slides, tabletops, and jumps for skiers and snowboarders to try out.

Shops for Gear and Souvenirs

The Outer Limits Shop is a great place to buy gifts, accessories, clothing, and souvenirs. Marmot Basin also has a Sales Centre in the town of Jasper. You can buy smaller items like hats, goggles, and mitts there.
