He was also on the team rosters for the Miami Dolphins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Marques Douglas's Football Journey

Starting His NFL Career

Marques Douglas began his professional football journey in 1999. He was signed by the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent. This means he wasn't chosen in the main NFL draft but was still picked up by a team. He didn't play in any games that first year.

In 2000, Douglas played for the New Orleans Saints. He was active for one game with them.

Returning to the Baltimore Ravens

From 2001 to 2004, Douglas returned to play for the Baltimore Ravens. During this time, he became a full-time starter for the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He started 32 games in total. While with the Ravens, he made 147 tackles, had 12 sacks, and caused three forced fumbles.

Playing for the San Francisco 49ers

In 2005, Marques Douglas joined the San Francisco 49ers. He was signed as an unrestricted free agent. This means he was free to sign with any team he wanted. He was brought in by coach Mike Nolan to help the 49ers change their defensive strategy to a "3-4 defense." In his last year with the 49ers, Douglas led all defensive linemen in tackles made behind the line of scrimmage.

Time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

On March 13, 2008, Douglas signed a four-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, his time there was short.

Third Time with the Ravens

Later in 2008, on August 27, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded Douglas back to the Baltimore Ravens. He was released by the Ravens on February 27, 2009.

Joining the New York Jets

After the 2008 season, Douglas became an unrestricted free agent again. He signed with the New York Jets on March 13, 2009. His contract with the Jets ended after the 2009 season, and he did not re-sign with them.

Brief Stint with the Miami Dolphins

On July 23, 2010, Douglas signed with the Miami Dolphins. However, he was cut from the team on September 5, 2010.

Finishing His Career with the Tennessee Titans

Marques Douglas signed with the Tennessee Titans on November 9, 2010. He played in six regular season games for the Titans in 2010. This was his final season playing in the NFL.
