Marquez Antonio Callaway (born March 27, 1998) is a professional American football player. He plays as a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football at the University of Tennessee. He has also played for the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Early Life and High School Football
Marquez Callaway grew up in Warner Robins, Georgia. He went to Warner Robins High School, where he was a star player on the football team. Many top colleges wanted him to play for them. He was considered a "4-star recruit," which means he was one of the best young players in the country.
Callaway chose to play college football at the University of Tennessee. He picked Tennessee over other famous schools like Alabama, Florida, and Georgia.
College Football Career
Marquez Callaway played for the University of Tennessee from 2016 to 2019. During his four years there, he caught 92 passes for a total of 1,646 yards. He also scored 13 touchdowns. His best season was in 2019, when he was named to the Second-team All-SEC.
Professional Football Career
Joining the NFL
After college, Marquez Callaway was not chosen in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, the New Orleans Saints signed him as an undrafted free agent on April 27, 2020. This means they offered him a contract even though he wasn't drafted.
He made his first NFL appearance in Week 2 of the 2020 season. In Week 4, he caught his first professional pass, which was a 16-yard gain. Later that season, he had a big game against the Carolina Panthers. He caught eight passes for 75 yards, which were the most for his team that day. He also caught a pass from legendary quarterback Drew Brees that was Brees' 7,000th career completion.
As a rookie, Callaway played in 11 games and started three of them. He finished his first year with 21 catches for 213 yards.
Expanding His Role in 2021
In the 2021 season, Marquez Callaway became an even more important player for the Saints. He scored his first NFL touchdown in Week 3 against the New England Patriots. In Week 5, he scored two touchdowns in one game against the Washington Football Team.
He had a great game in Week 15 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, catching six passes for 112 yards. For the entire 2021 season, Callaway played in all 17 games. He caught 46 passes for 698 yards and scored six touchdowns.
Later Seasons and Other Teams
In the 2022 season, Callaway played in 14 games for the Saints. He had 16 catches for 158 yards and one touchdown. After this season, he became a free agent, meaning he could sign with any team.
- Denver Broncos: In March 2023, Callaway signed with the Denver Broncos. He was later released before the season started.
- Las Vegas Raiders: He then joined the practice squad of the Las Vegas Raiders in August 2023. He was released in October.
- New Orleans Saints (Second Time): Callaway returned to the Saints' practice squad in November 2023. He played in three games for them that season.
- Pittsburgh Steelers: In January 2024, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was released by them in July.
- New Orleans Saints (Third Time): Callaway signed with the Saints again in August 2024, but was released shortly after.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: On October 16, 2024, Callaway joined the practice squad of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He signed a future contract with them in January 2025.
