Marshanda was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. She is the oldest of three children. Her parents are Riyanti Sofyan and Irwan Yusuf. She has a younger brother named Aldrian and a younger sister named Allysa. When she was three years old, Marshanda lived in Semarang, Central Java, for two years.

Marshanda's Life

Marshanda married television host Ben Kasyafani on April 2, 2011. Their wedding followed the traditions of the Minangkabau people. On January 22, 2013, Marshanda gave birth to their daughter, Sienna Ameerah Kasyafani. The couple divorced in 2014.

Marshanda graduated from Universitas Pelita Harapan on June 13, 2015.

Marshanda has openly shared her experience with bipolar II disorder. This is a mood condition that affects a person's energy and mood. She has become a strong advocate for mental health awareness. Since 2019, she has been speaking at many seminars and podcasts. She helps people understand bipolar disorder better. In 2022, she started a campaign called #SeeingTheUnseen with TikTok Indonesia. This campaign featured a special batik design. The design was inspired by the brain waves of people with bipolar disorder.
