Marshanda was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on August 10, 1989. She is the oldest of three children. Her parents are Riyanti Sofyan and Irwan Yusuf. She has a younger brother named Aldrian and a younger sister named Allysa. When she was three years old, Marshanda lived in Semarang, Central Java, for two years.

Her Life and Family

Marshanda, often called Chacha, married television host Ben Kasyafani on April 2, 2011. Their wedding followed the traditions of the Minangkabau people, which is Marshanda's family background.

On January 22, 2013, Marshanda and Ben welcomed their daughter, Sienna Ameerah Kasyafani. The couple later divorced in 2014.

Marshanda graduated from Universitas Pelita Harapan on June 13, 2015.

Advocating for Mental Health

Marshanda has openly shared her experience with a brain condition called bipolar II disorder. She has become a strong advocate for understanding and supporting people with this condition. Since 2019, she has been speaking at many seminars and podcasts to raise awareness. In 2022, she started a campaign called #SeeingTheUnseen with TikTok Indonesia. As part of this campaign, she introduced a special batik design. This design was inspired by the brain waves of people with bipolar disorder, helping to show that mental health is important.
