Martín Almagro Gorbea was born on January 5, 1946, in Barcelona, Spain. He is a famous Spanish prehistorian, which means he studies very old human history, especially before writing was invented.
He is a professor of prehistory and has a special advanced degree (a Ph.D.) in history from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He even won an "extraordinary prize" for his excellent work there.
Martín Almagro Gorbea became a member of the Real Academia de la Historia (Royal Academy of History) in 1995. This is a very important group of experts who study Spanish history.
