Martín Fiz Martín (born 3 March 1963) is a famous long-distance runner from Spain. He is known for his amazing achievements in marathon races around the world. Martín Fiz has won many important titles, showing great skill and determination throughout his career.

Martín Fiz's Running Career
Martín Fiz became a top marathon runner in the 1990s. He won the marathon at the 1994 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki, Finland. This was a huge victory for him.
He continued his success the very next year. In 1995, he won the marathon at the 1995 World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, Sweden. That same year, he also won the 1995 Rotterdam Marathon in the Netherlands.
Olympic Games and World Medals
Martín Fiz represented Spain in three Summer Olympics. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA, he finished fourth in the marathon. He was very close to winning an Olympic medal.
A year later, in 1997, he earned a silver medal at the 1997 World Championships in Athletics in Athens, Greece. He finished just behind another Spanish runner, Abel Anton.
He also competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. There, he finished sixth in the marathon, showing his consistent performance at the highest level.
Life After Professional Running
Even after his main professional career, Martín Fiz kept running. He continued to compete in races as a "masters" athlete. These are athletes who are older but still very competitive.
In 2019, he set a new world record for men aged 55 and over (M55) in a 10K road race. He ran it in an impressive 31 minutes and 36 seconds in Valencia, Spain.
