Martha Érika Alonso Hidalgo (born 17 December 1973 – died 24 December 2018) was an important Mexican politician. She was a member of the National Action Party, also known as PAN. This is one of Mexico's main political parties.
Martha Érika Alonso Hidalgo made history. She was the first woman to become Governor of Puebla. Puebla is one of the states in Mexico. She served as governor for a very short time, just ten days. Her term was from 14 December to 24 December 2018.
Her husband was Rafael Moreno Valle Rosas. He was also a politician and served as the governor of Puebla before her. He was governor from 2011 to 2017.
On 24 December 2018, Martha Érika Alonso Hidalgo and her husband, Rafael Moreno Valle Rosas, were both tragically killed. They died in a helicopter crash near Santa María Coronango, Puebla. She was 45 years old at the time.
