Mary Grace Canfield (born September 3, 1924 – died February 15, 2014) was an American actress. She was known for her roles in theatre, movies, and TV shows. Many people remember her best as Ralph Monroe on the popular TV comedy series Green Acres. She also appeared on The Andy Griffith Show.

Early Life and Acting Career
Mary Grace Canfield was born in Rochester, New York. She grew up in a town called Pittsford, New York. She had an older sister named Constance.
Mary Grace loved acting. From 1952 to 1964, she performed in many small theatre groups. She also acted in several plays on Broadway, which is a famous theatre district in New York City.
Her first TV role was in March 1954. She played a character named Frances in an episode of Goodyear Playhouse. Later, she played a housekeeper named Amanda Allison on the TV show The Hathaways from 1961 to 1962. She also appeared on The Andy Griffith Show. In one episode, she played Thelma Lou's cousin, Mary Grace. Her character went on a blind date with Gomer Pyle, played by Jim Nabors.
Starring in Green Acres
Mary Grace Canfield became very famous for her role as Ralph Monroe on the TV show Green Acres. Ralph was a carpenter who was not very good at building things. She would often greet people by saying "Howdy Doody!"
She was in more than 40 episodes of Green Acres. The show ran for six years, from 1965 to 1971. She even played Ralph Monroe again in a TV movie called Return to Green Acres in 1990. Mary Grace once said that being known for Ralph was easy. She felt it was a simple role compared to other parts she worked hard on.
Other Acting Roles
Mary Grace Canfield also guest-starred on other TV shows. She was on The Eleventh Hour. In 1966, she played Harriet Kravitz on four episodes of Bewitched. Harriet was the sister of Abner Kravitz.
In the early 1970s, she shared the role of Lucille March on the show General Hospital. Mary Grace also appeared in several movies. These included Pollyanna (where she played Angelica), The St. Valentine's Day Massacre, and Something Wicked This Way Comes.
Later Years and Passing
Mary Grace Canfield made her last public appearance in 2005. She attended the funeral of Eddie Albert, who was her co-star on Green Acres.
Mary Grace Canfield passed away on February 15, 2014, in Santa Barbara, California. She was 89 years old.
