Marzahn-Hellersdorf facts for kids
Marzahn-Hellersdorf is one of the 12 new boroughs in Berlin, Germany. It was created in 2001 when the older boroughs of Marzahn and Hellersdorf joined together.
This borough is located in the northeast part of Berlin. It shares borders with Lichtenberg to the west, Treptow-Köpenick to the south, and the state of Brandenburg to the east and north.
Marzahn-Hellersdorf is made up of five former villages: Biesdorf, Hellersdorf, Kaulsdorf, Mahlsdorf, and Marzahn. These villages became part of Berlin in 1920.
