Masaki Yanagawa (born May 1, 1987) is a former professional Japanese football player. He played as a defender. Masaki was known for his strong play in the back line. He spent many years playing for different teams in Japan and the Philippines.

Masaki's Football Journey
Masaki Yanagawa started his football career in his hometown of Sanda, Japan. He joined the youth team of Vissel Kobe in 2000. After years of training, he became a professional player for Vissel Kobe in 2006.
Playing for Vissel Kobe
In his first year with Vissel Kobe, Masaki played many games. He helped his team get promoted to the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. This was a big achievement for the team and for Masaki.
However, after 2007, he did not play as much for Vissel Kobe. He then moved to another team called Ventforet Kofu in 2010. He returned to Vissel Kobe in 2011, but soon moved to Thespa Kusatsu in July of that year.
Moving to New Teams
From 2012, Masaki continued his career with different clubs. He played for Tochigi SC in 2012. Then, from 2013 to 2014, he played for Gainare Tottori. These moves allowed him to gain more experience on the field.
Playing in the Philippines
In 2015, Masaki decided to play football outside of Japan. He moved to the Philippines and joined a team called Global. He played alongside his former Vissel Kobe teammate, Norio Suzuki.
After playing for Global, Masaki joined Voltes in 2016. This team later changed its name to Marikina. He played for them until the end of the 2017 season. Masaki then left the club, ending his professional playing career.
Playing for Japan's National Team
Masaki Yanagawa also had the chance to represent his country. In July 2007, he was chosen to play for the Japan U-20 national team. This team played in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
During this important tournament, Masaki played one match. He was a center back in the game against Nigeria. Playing for the national team is a great honor for any football player.
